FIA “Race True” Anti-Doping Campaign

The FIA believes that doping tests are necessary for fighting against doping.
However, it believes that doping prevention is even more important because it helps to raise the awareness of the drivers without putting their careers at risk.
This is why an FIA anti-doping e-learning course and quiz, which are available in five languages (and more in the future), will be launched in July 2011, in cooperation with the National Sporting Authorities.
The objective of this e-learning programme will be to give, within approximately 30 minutes and in an informative and entertaining way, an overview of all the key anti-doping points of which a driver MUST be aware.
The target users will, of course, be the drivers, from the local level all the way up to international level, as well as their doctors, support personnel and families and any other sports enthusiasts who might want to know more about anti-doping.
We hope that many of you will spend these 30 minutes on our e-learning programme, minutes that could change your life or the lives of drivers you know, by avoiding possible positive doping results caused by ignorance.
FIA Anti-Doping Regulations
The FIA became Signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code (the “Code”) in December 2010, thus joining the family of the major international sporting federations.
Although the FIA Anti-Doping Regulations have been completely revised in order to comply with the Code, there will be no major regulatory modifications given that the FIA Anti-Doping Regulations had already been based closely on the Code since January 2006.

Therapeutic Use Exemption (Tue) Procedure
Once a year (or more frequently if required), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) issues a list of substances and methods the use of which is prohibited in and/or out of competition. This list is called the "Prohibited List" (available above, under "FIA Anti-Doping Regulations").
However, if, for medical reasons, a driver needs to use a drug including a prohibited substance or a prohibited method (which means that no permitted medicine can be used instead), a request for a "Therapeutic Use Exemption" (TUE) can be made to the competent organisation, whilst ensuring that the deadlines in the regulations are respected.
When should the TUE form be submitted?
- no later than 30 days before the beginning of the season or the next event;
- if you are included in your National Registered Testing Pool or the FIA International Registered Testing Pool: at the moment you are included in this group.
To whom should the application be submitted to?
To the FIA if you are:
- included in the FIA International Registered Testing Pool
- planning to participate in any of the following championships:
- FIA Formula One World Championship,
- FIA Formula Two Championship,
- FIA World Rally Championship,
